We are a community of prayer centered on Jesus, the light and love of the world. We are bound together by a covenant to love God and others wholeheartedly.
Even though we are a Presbyterian Church in the Reformed tradition of Christian Faith, our roots go back through the one, holy, catholic and apostolic church, through Judaism and into a promise held in the heart of Abraham, Sarah and Hagar, a promise that they and their children would someday find a way to be a blessing for all the peoples and nations of the whole earth. We hold that promise dear and work together for good to bring the divine dream of a world full of peace, freedom, health, justice, and love to fruition. All are welcome to be and work with us.
The Shepherdstown Presbyterian Church was established in 1743. Its historic meeting house was built in 1836. We gather every Sunday morning at 8:15am and 10:45 for a service of prayer and at other times for small group prayer, fellowship, and study.
We are partners in ministry with the Shepherdstown Ministerial Association, the Jefferson County Community Ministries, the Martinsburg Rescue Mission, and other civic organizations. We are linked in ministry to the nation and the world through the Presbyterian Church (PCUSA).
