October is "Get Real" Month for Senior Yootz
|
|
|
Senior Yootz:
Every Wednesday in October we will be meeting in the church from 7:15 - 8:00 p.m. for discussions centered around movie clips, magazines, songs and other stuff you all are around every day. In these discusssions, anything goes: there is no topic I am afraid to talk about. The only rule is that we must all BE REAL. No taking the easy way out of the many tough issues we will explore. Can you handle it?
I do understand your crazy, crazy schedules. I am so proud of the may awesome things you all are involved with. Truly. But I am asking for one day a week of one month for only 45 minutes to be devoted to seeking God togehter in a real way. Please join me.
See you October 3 for our first meeting

| Editor’s note: On November 14, 1970 a plane crash killed 75 members
of Marshall University’s football team coaching staff and fans. Brandon,
a devoted fan of Marshall’s Thundering
Herd, attended the premier of the film in Huntington, WV. SPC member Will Sutherland
worked on the set of the movie.
I´m obviously not very objective a critic on
the film but I gotta tell ya—this
is one hell of a movie. I have never seen a sports film like it. Actually,
I would not label this sports film at all. The movie is about grief—how
grief feels, what grief causes, ways to deal with grief, and ways to find hope
in times of grief, and ultimately ways to triumph over grief. Actual football
action only accounted for about 20 minutes of the 2-hour fil.
